My most recent assignment was to write in couplets. We were supposed to write about someone in pop culture. I chose Tom and Katie.Scientologists' Love Song
It's sad: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
appear in few well crafted poems.
At Dawson's Creek far and away
the minstrel's mute and sings no lay.
So with my lyre I whisper verse
but soon discover their love's perverse.
To praise their love's a foolish mission.
Impossible! It admits of just derision,
the reason being, I've discovered,
the influence of L. Ron Hubbard.
